It’s that time of year! Frosty mornings, cooler nights, jackets come out, and fires warm us up. At The Westport Club, winter is one of our favourite times of year! It’s the time where we get our fireplaces lit, marshmallows toasted, and wine cellar stocked – creating plenty of winter warmers for you to enjoy with us.
As the days get shorter, mornings get colder, and we even maybe get a little drizzle of rain (or a lot!), it’s not time to bury away and hibernate! It’s time to get out and indulge in all those winter specialties. Whether it’s setting up the firepit outside, bringing out the most snuggly blanket you have, cooking up a treat in your slow cooker, strolls in the winter sun, or (if you’re feeling adventurous!) an icy plunge in the ocean. We love hearing others’ winter rituals and the special things they love to do to get into the winter spirit!
Over the winter season you will start to see some changes around our club, showcasing these winter rituals that allow you to warm your winter with us! These winter warmers throughout our club include all our favourite winter activities and mean that we can share these memorable experiences with our members during this season. Here are just some of our winter warmers you can find in our club during this time.
Marshmallow Toasting
What’s better than a crackling fire in winter? Well, pair that with deliciously toasted marshmallows from The Marshmallow Co. and you have the winter delight of your dreams! Located at our front carpark near the reception front doors, treat yourself to a marshmallow on your way into the club, way out, or both! Our boutique marshmallows are in the flavours Vanilla Swirl and Salted Caramel – and taste delicious (but we are a bit biased)! Marshmallow toasting is happening every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night.
Wine Cellar
Sit back and relax at our pop-up wine cellar. Located in our reception area at the front of the bottle shop, our wine cellar brings you the ultimate winter warmers experience. With the crackling indoor fireplace to set the scene, wine barrels, and cowboy hats – join us for a unique tasting experience each Thursday, Friday & Saturday night. Operated by one of our Jimmy’s Bar & Lounge superstars, they will be providing tastings from some of our incredible wine stockists, best labels, and cocktail favourites. Pop by and check out their tasting of the night on your next visit.
Free Bingo Fridays’
For a limited time join us for free bingo each Friday during June! If you’re a bingo lover, occasional player, or a fresh face to the game – this is a perfect winter warmer to keep you busy each Friday morning. Grab some friends, get a coffee on the way from Hastings Coffee Co. and get ready to have fun! Same great prizes, same great time but without spending a cent. Members’ Jackpot
Our jackpot is climbing! At $24,500 our members’ jackpot would be the perfect way to fund your favourite winter activities. A trip away, home renovations, maybe a new car? The choice would be yours with the extra cash in your wallet. Members’ Jackpot is on every Monday & Thursday night from 6:30pm with all members being automatically entered into the draw – just make sure you are inside the club at the time of the draw to claim.
Harry Potter Themed Trivia
Get ready to dive into all things Harry Potter, Hogwarts, magic and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Our next Themed Trivia night is happening on Friday June 17th! Butterbeer will be pouring, owls hooting and wands at the ready – gather your team and get ready to be crowned the ultimate wizarding champion. Winter Warmers Raffle
We’re turning up the heat with the ultimate winter warmers raffle! We have everything you need to stay warm and keep cosy – plus our major prize of a BBQ Smoker to keep you cooking all winter long!
