Everything you need to know about Christmas Under the Stars
Christmas Under the Stars is The Westport Club’s flagship community event. It is a special night of entertainment put on especially for the Port Macquarie community to enjoy.
Now in its twelfth year, Christmas Under the Stars is a celebration of all the wonderful things that make up the festive season and is a great way for the community to come together.
Program for the evening
Gates will open to the public from 4.30pm with an entry fee of $2 per person. We ask that you don’t try to access the site before then as event setup will still be underway and your safety is our priority. If you do arrive early, why not pop into Hastings Coffee Co. for a coffee or take a stroll along the Hastings River to stretch your legs before the event?
The evening of entertainment kicks off from 5.30pm with performances by Sing Australia, Telegraph Point Public School, Port Macquarie Performing Arts and of course Tim Campbell.
The second half of the evening will feature Riley Paige, Angus Gill and more wonderful entertainment by your host for the evening, Tim Campbell.
Of course the festivities wouldn’t be complete without a bit of sparkle, and so the night will conclude with the traditional fireworks spectacular, at 9pm.
What to bring
- Picnic blanket
- Folding / camping chairs
- Mosquito repellent (just in case)
- Your most festive Christmas attire, such as santa hats, earrings, t-shirts – the gaudier the better!
- Your Christmas spirit and best singing voice.
Most importantly, don’t forget to bring along cash. Entry to the event is a $2 per person. Bring along some money to purchase soft drinks, dinner and snacks from the range of food and beverage vendors as well. If you do forget your cash, don’t worry – there are three ATM’s available inside The Westport Club.
There will be a picnic blanket only area set up in front of the stage area for those who don’t have chairs.
Food and drink vendors
There will be plenty of affordable food and drink options available for you to choose from on the night. The following local suppliers will be present –
- Marine Rescue will be selling sausage sandwiches, steak sandwiches, hot chips and soft drinks.
- The Mexican Food Van will have tacos and other Mexican delights.
- You can also grab some fairy floss from the amusement stalls.
- And of course, who could forget Port’s Mr Icecream!
- Grab a coffee from Holy Goat Coffee.
The 2018 Christmas Under the Stars will be held at Westport Park, Buller Street Port Macquarie. That is, right next to The Westport Club! If you need directions on how to get there from your location, use the Take Me There page of our website.
As a large crowd is expected, we recommend car pooling with friends and family to make parking easier. You could also book a taxi online with Port Macquarie Taxis or even catch the bus to Settlement City and enjoy a leisurely stroll with the family down along the riverfront to the event location.
Parking will be available at The Westport Club with parking attendants on hand to assist with inquiries. You can also park in the marina carpark or surrounding streets. Just remember to adhere to parking rules and never park over a residential driveway or clearway zone.
Other than the stage entertainment, there will be plenty to keep the kids busy at Christmas Under the Stars. There will be kids’ amusements, rides and slides as well as face painting available on the night. Plus there’ll be a visit from someone special. We can’t tell you who, but let’s just say he’s got a big beard, a round belly and is very jolly!
