The Cinema

There are two wonderful local options to see a movie while you are in Port Macquarie!

Plaza Theatre

If the centre of town is getting a little busy for your liking, take a short drive out to Laurieton to visit the beautifully historical Plaza Theatre. The Plaza Theatre was built in 1959, before this date films were exhibited across the road in the School of Arts hall. Baz Luhrmann’s father was the projectionist in the early 70’s, inspiring his son’s interest in the film industry. The rest is history – how cool is that! The theatre shows both new releases and occasionally some classics. Check out showtimes here (https://www.plazatheatre.com.au/).
