It’s also a great spot to catch up with friends. The aroma of freshly baked bread combined with roasted coffee is heaven for your senses.
Our Aqua Restaurant steps it up a notch, offering a fine dining experience that’s not to be missed. Unbeatable views of the Hastings River combined with the modern Australian menu makes eating at Aqua a truly memorable experience. What made you join The Westport Club?
“I joined the Westport Club when I moved here two years ago. My parents lived in Port from 1985 so I’ve been a regular visitor and member of the club because both my parents were bowlers at this club.”
What’s the best thing about being a Westport VIP?
“I feel it is a very, very friendly club and the staff are always very obliging and very diligent. And they focus very well on their job.”
What’s your routine when you arrive at the club?
“Come up to Jimmy’s Bar & Lounge and order a schooner of Great Northern!”
What is your favourite part of the club and why?
“My favourite part of the club is Jimmy’s because most of the people I know in the club congregate in this area. But sometimes I like to grab my beer and relax and sit over near the windows and watch the beautiful view of the Hastings River and its surroundings.”
What’s the highlight of the week at the club?
“My highlight of the week at the club is every day that I come here – normally about 5 days a week. It’s normally my break period from chores and caring at home and so forth. So it’s a bit of respite, you could say, for me.”
What would you say to someone who’s contemplating joining The Westport Club?
“If you’re thinking of joining the club – I would suggest you join as you have Aqua Restaurant, Hastings Coffee Co, the promotions and activities, plus the upstairs area at Jimmy’s where you get to watch the staff share their magic and make cocktails. There’s something for everyone.”

What made you join The Westport Club?
“I first joined The Westport Club as a member with a netball club (a sub club of The Westport Club). I liked the association (between the two clubs) because The Westport Club was sponsoring netball and I was very involved, so I thought: They are giving us a sponsorship; I should join the club and be part of the team”.
What’s the best thing about being a Westport VIP?
“You feel included within the club. You’re asked what you like or what the club can improve upon and the feedback that you give seems to be taken on board, so you see little things around the club and you think ‘oh I said that in to the club’ and it makes you feel part of the community of the club.”
What’s your routine when you arrive at the club?
“I say ‘Hello’ to everyone and I meet friends for lunch. I like to catch up with some of the staff and see how they are going. I feel that they are genuinely interested in how I’ve been and how my sons have been. I feel it’s a very relaxed situation when you come in to the club.”
What is your favourite part of the club and why?
“I like Aqua, I like the food. I think we have a really high quality of food and service at Aqua. I hear people say ‘It’s a bowling club’ but it’s much more. You have amazing chefs, service, the wine and beer selection and the view. It’s the best place to come in Port Macquarie.”
What’s your favourite dish off the Summer Menu?
“I have tried most of the items on the menu, but last week I tried the sirloin with king prawns and it was to die for! The oysters are always beautiful too, they are so fresh!”
What’s the highlight of the week at the club?
“The best part of the week is coming in and being greeted by the staff. You feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for anyone. Being acknowledged is really important and you feel a genuine level of care. I come to The Westport Club because it feels like family to me.”
What would you say to someone who’s contemplating joining The Westport Club?
“Do it. You’ve got nothing to lose. You gain friendships, you have a quality venue to go to. It offers so much more than food, cocktails and gaming – it’s not just a place to come and have a drink; it’s a place to come and be involved. You should join – it’s the best club on the coast!”

What made you join The Westport Club?
“I used to come here every couple of months when I was living in Tamworth and over that time I watched the club grow. When I walked into the club the first time, the greeting was very good, the staff were fantastic.”
What’s the best thing about being a Westport VIP?
“The best thing is being able to attend VIP functions. It gives you a chance to meet the staff at the club and gives you an idea of the background of the club and how it all works.”
What’s your routine when you arrive at the club?
“I usually go straight to the coffee shop and have a coffee (I like to think I’m a bit of a coffee aficionado!) The staff are always very, very helpful.”
What is your favourite part of the club and why?
“Aqua Restaurant – we come here every Thursday with my mother in law who is 90 years old. We sit down and have a beautiful meal. There’s lots of selections so that’s good. The wine selection is also great.”
What’s the highlight of the week at the club?
“I must emphasise that the staff always greet you nicely and they also keep you informed on what’s happening at the club. Lately a highlight has been coming down to the club on a Sunday for the Lucky 8s draw. You can win a bit of money while you’re here if you’re lucky!”
What would you say to someone who’s contemplating joining The Westport Club?
“You’ll find a lot of different avenues to do things here at the club, whether it’s bingo, bowls or a range of other activities. It’s also nice for families to be able to come in to either the café or Aqua to dine.”
